Our Mission

The Palos Park Police Foundation (the "PPPF")was established in 2010 by Reverend Lane Hensley.  The Mission of the Foundation is to prevent crime, save lives, and make our community a better and safer place to live and work by assisting the Palos Park Police Department (the "PPPD") with resources not available from the Village of Palos Park in an effort to:
  • provide training and education in law enforcement and professional development;
  • equip the PPPD with specialized crime prevention and crime solving equipment;
  • equip all sworn officers with personal police equipment and tactical gear including bullet proof vests, service revolvers, holsters, duty belts, restraints, flashlights, and other safety equipment as technology advances;
  • offer financial support for recruiting and retaining the highest quality law enforcement officers and leadership;
  • advance community service programs, including cadet and mentoring programs;
  • support strategic initiatives of the PPPD, including federally mandated Homeland Security initiatives;
  • provide personal hardship assistance to officers and surviving family members of officers killed or injured in the line of duty.

The PPPF raises funds for these purposes through direct mail solicitation of residents and businesses, fundraising events, and sales of PPPF clothing.   We have no property, and all miscellaneous operating expenses are paid for by in-kind donations, primarily from members of the Board of Directors.
